Friends of the Homeless of the South Shore

Headquartered in Hingham, Friends of the Homeless is dedicated to helping homeless families by providing food, clothing, furniture, shelter education, and advocacy.



Scholarship Fund

Our scholarship fund recognizes and rewards high school seniors not only for their academic and extracurricular achievements but also for their commitment to community service.

Additional Organizations We Support

Wellspring's Diane Edson Fund

Created to provide immediate assistance to individuals in crisis situations, 100% of HMC's donations go directly to meeting the housing, food, and energy bill needs of those in our community.


Meals on Wheels

Every week our members deliver meals directly to the homes of Hingham seniors in whose mobility is limited.


Rosie's Place

A sanctuary for poor and homeless women, Rosie's Place offers emergency and long-term assistance to women who have nowhere else to turn.


Hingham Food Pantry

Established by volunteers from 10 churches and the synagogue, and representatives of the community at large, the food pantry's mission is to benefit Hingham residents whose limited income leaves them unable to purchase adequate supplies of food.


Cradles to Crayons

Cradles to Crayons is an innovative nonprofit organization that equips homeless and in-need children throughout Massachusetts with the basic essentials they need to feel safe, warm, ready to learn, and valued.
