Alyssa Fortin Photography is offering “Little White Dress Party” mini-photo shoots to benefit The Magical Moon Foundation in Marshfield. The mission of The Magical Moon Foundation is to nurture and empower children with cancer. Children’s book illustrator and foundation director Donna Green says, “Compassion is something so powerful that it can change the outcome for a child with cancer... It has the power to heal the one who is reaching out as well. We become what we believe.”
Alyssa will take photographs at six such “parties” to be held in May at the Magical Moon Farm owned by Ms. Green. The farm has several old trees, antique barns, a chicken coop, secret garden, tree swing, bunny house and much, much more. Laura Marsden, a children’s clothing maker in Hingham, has volunteered her time and talents to remake dresses out of old linens for the event.
Each party will host 5-6 children and the children will have the opportunity to wear the remade white linen dresses. The cost will be $150 per child, which will include one 8 x 10 print of a photograph taken on that day. $120 from each fee will benefit The Magical Moon Foundation. For more information contact Alyssa Fortin at 781 875-1400 or through her website: www.alyssafortinphotography.com.
The Little White Dress fundraiser will culminate in a Little White Dress Tea Party in Hingham to be put on by the Hingham Mother’s Club and Alyssa Fortin Photography. This event will be an old-fashioned mother/daughter tea party on Saturday, June 5th 2-5pm.. During the party the girls will have a chance to play games on the lawn and dance around a maypole while Alyssa takes photographs. All profits from the Tea Party and a percentage of the sales of the photographs from that event will go to the Magical Moon Foundation. The cost is $100 per family.
