Back for its sixth year at Old Derby Academy, 34 Main St. across from Noble's Camera Shop, from 5:30pm to 8pm on Friday, Dec. 4, and 10am to 3pm on Saturday, Dec. 5. This event, sponsored by the Hingham Mothers' Club and the Hingham Historical Society, transforms the Old Derby Academy into a wonderland of decorated trees, gingerbread houses, wreaths and centerpieces, all available through a silent auction and through a children’s raffle. All proceeds benefit the Hingham Mothers' Club Scholarship Fund and the Diane Edson Fund.
The Festival is a showcase of community creativity. Donations from local merchants, civic organizations, and individuals range from traditionally decorated trees, to whimsical trees, to trees containing items and services that are perfect for that hard-to-buy-for person. Past themes include “Orange You Glad Its Christmas?” (all orange!), “Sweet Little Origami Tree”, and “You’d Better Watch Out” (with 20 stylish watches for ornaments).
It’s hard to predict which will be this year’s hottest silent auction item. To donate a tree, centerpiece or gingerbread house please fill out the form below. We also need over 40 volunteers to set-up, staff and close down the event. If you can take a 2 hour shift on Dec. 4th or Dec. 5th contact us through email at: Or complete the online form below. This is our biggest fund raiser of the year, we need all hands on deck to make it a great success. Please take the time to donate a tree or work a shift!
